1. First, login to the system and open a terminal window.

• type

  sudo system-config-printer

• it will prompt for your password

2. The print manager will appear.

• Click Add

3. The Add Printer manager will appear.

• Select the LPD/LPR Host or Printer in the Select Device section
• Add the Host and Queue entries….just like on a Windows install. Remember to add the .printer.mst.edu in the hostname.
• Click Forward when done.

4. As that information is saved, the Manufacturer page will appear.

• Select the manufacturer of the printer.
• Click Forward when done.

5. Next will be the Driver page.

• Select the Model then the Driver. We typically go with the default/recommended driver.
• Click Forward when done.

6. As the driver loads, the options page will appear.

• Select additional trays, duplexers, etc.
• Click Forward when done.

7. The Description page appears.

• Give the printer a easy to read name and location

8. A test page prompt will appear.

Then the final window indicating the printer was added
